First Holy Communion Portraits
Booking now for Saturday, April 25th in Hackettstown, NJ

You’ve watched your child spend weeks learning their prayers, practicing the ceremony, and growing into this beautiful moment. Their First Holy Communion has a way of arriving and passing all at once.
These portraits are how you hold onto it.
If you’re looking for a First Holy Communion photographer in NJ who takes the time to do this right, you’re in the right place.
Communion day goes by fast. Your portraits don’t have to.

First Holy Communion is a beautiful Sacrament. Likely, it’s the first one that your son or daughter will remember for life, and it deserves more than a 10 minute mini-session. Here in our Hackettstown, NJ studio, we offer a full 25 minutes that gives kids the breathing room to get comfortable, loosen up in their formal clothes, and change into a second look if you want one. Siblings and parents are welcome in the frame too.
Parents are encouraged to bring anything meaningful to your family. A rosary, prayer book, bible, or other keepsakes make for portraits with real soul.
What to Expect
25 to 30 minutes of unhurried portrait time, up to two outfit changes, sibling and family photos, and gentle posing guidance from start to finish. No chaos, no rushing, no stiff smiles.
You’ll See and Choose Your Photos That Same Day
Right after your session, we’ll sit down together for a private image reveal. You choose your favorites right there and leave knowing you chose your absolute FAVORITES! Your final images will be delivered within days, not weeks.
Sessions are held at my private studio at 106 Mountain Ave in Hackettstown, easily accessible from Washington, Mount Olive, Sparta, and the surrounding Warren and Morris County areas.

About Melissa
I’ve been photographing New Jersey children and families for over 20 years. But honestly, it took my own busy life getting in the way to change how I think about what I deliver.
My wedding photos sat on a USB drive for years. I was the photographer who never made time to print her own pictures. When I finally did something about it, I understood what my clients had been missing all along.
For the past four years, getting prints into your hands has been the whole point. Photos off your phone and onto your walls. Into albums your kids can actually flip through. Because when they grow up and want to look back, they’re not going to want to dig through decades of Facebook posts or scroll through a camera roll to find their family portraits buried amongst dated screen shots and pictures of pretty food. They want to look for something they can hold.
Your son or daughter’s First Holy Communion deserves the kind of portrait that they find on your walls and look at fondly with a smile. I was just there last year. My own daughter is a student at Reverend Brown School in Sparta, and just received her Communion last year, so this milestone is genuinely personal to me.
